Shocking. People had better things to do than to watch a .500 team play its final game in the rain.

SMU fans really shouldn't point out other schools attendance problems.........

Why not? We are the certified experts at attendance problems. Just ask us, we can come up with a myriad of reasons no one is coming to your games.

Note to coaches: berating fans lowers attendance

Actually there may be some consulting opportunities ahead for us.

and this is exactly why so many people refer to SMU & TCU as "sister schools" in the DFW Metroplex. All I know is I will be pleased if/when the day comes that SMU can draw 20,000 to Ford to watch a .500 SMU team play a game in the rain

But will your little son be entertained? Because if not, why bother?

Even when they are sucking, they are so much better than us...lowest of the low.

IMO this is evidence that TCU has captured the tshirt fan, who doesn't care to watch subpar games in the rain. Win a Rose Bowl and SMU could get 15K tshirt fans too.

Patterson has a legitimate gripe here. They have proven it on the field for years. Been in the biggest of games, are in a real conference and are the only show in town.

When we are all of those things we have a gripe about attendance.

How bout this? Fans are fickle and generally are not very loyal. Every team everywhere makes fun of their opponents' fans and lack of attendance. Manchester, New York, Toronto, Midland. Most great coaches don't use it as an excuse, instead they rally around the fans they do have and find ways to win despite humans being human.

I was saying we both suck, which is true.

See how basketball plummets this year as we keep sucking.
