despite their new 5 star Texas A&M transfer QB, "the Houston defense led the way, allowing just two touchdowns, both in scenarios with the drives starting inside their red zone."

Kyle Allen: 30-of-50, 247 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs just 8 yards per completion and less than 5 yards per pass

Leading rusher had 22 yards and 2nd leading rusher had 19 yards.

Leading receiver caught 9 balls but for only 47 yards

Applewhite doing his thing-should ask for help from Bowden*

(* don't ask you crazy kids)

I hope they are dogshit for years and we hang 70 on them.

Ed Oliver.

Defense usually performs better in the spring. Guess OL and RBs aren't too great.

Ed Oliver will be out for vengeance this year, especially on their home field. SMU OC and OL coaches did a fantastic job preparing our OL schemes to minimize his impact. Evan Brown especially earned his stripes in that game.
Not sure what the Coogs are going to change defensively this year. Let's hope the SMU coaches and players bring the same preparation and intensity to Houston. Will need every ounce of it!

Not sure I would put too much stock into stats from a first scrimmage of spring football...on either side of the ball. At U of H or any other high school.

Just watched the replay of the 2016 game on YouTube. And I'll probably watch it another 3 or 4 times.
