If we go 12-0

Those 7 home games are all winnable and if the wind blows just right, all the moon n sun lines up, the refs fav colors are red, n blue and the Ponies get a few breaks go our way, those 5 road games could be winnable, as well. So, IF we somehow was to go 12-0, is there still "ZERO" chance of being one of the four teams playing for a National Title?

Go Ponies!

I think the fact that we think every game could be winnable if things go our way implies that our schedule is so weak that we would never be considered for a playoff spot

I am not sure we would be in the top 25 at 12-0

I used to get high on life. Seize the day even. But then I built up a tolerance.

I have to seize 4, 5, or 6 days... sometimes even a week just to get the same buzz.

There is zero chance. We are off the charts to begin with, our schedule is weak save TCU, etc. We would have to be 8-0 before we even cracked the top-25.

if we went JUST 12-0 then there is ZERO percent chance at playing for National Championship-we would have to also win the AAC Championship Game too-so at minimum 13-0-then we'd get placed in the worst BCS Bowl whichever that is

Western Michigan went 12-0, won their conference title and only made it up to 15 in the final CFP poll of 2016. A pretty clear message was sent that going undefeated isn't enough to be in CFP contention if your schedule is inexcusably weak.

Same thing (assuming we win the AAC title game), we'll finish as the highest ranked G5 champion and play in the Access Bowl.

1. This isn't happening

2. You'd need a perfect storm, like two years when the AAC was pretty strong with four ranked teams (UH, Memphis, Temple, Navy). Then you'd need to beat TCU in Fort Worth AND have them finish at least top 3 in the Big 12 so that's a quality win. On top of that, you'd need some uncertainty at the top of the polls and probably a 2-loss P5 team vying for a spot in the playoff. Even then, I don't know.

with our luck 3 loss Ohio St. would proceed to beat Wisconsin 59-0 in Big 10 Championship to jump ahead of us
