The Meyer family lived on the street behind us in lake highlands. Knew his son at lhhs.
Funny ... Dave bliss lived three doors down also.

The opening locker room speech was during halftime of the 1980 TCU game. Meyer started the usual get the job done, its all about business talk and then got emotional. That is the part shown in this clip. It was the only time I saw Meyer get angry and raise his voice. Usually it was about getting the job done. Not rah-rah, but doing your job. This was so out of character and I know it got my attention.
