Bring Back the "Mayor's Cup"

Watched a bit of the Stanford Indians v Rice Owls last night. Smart
kids who can play versus smart kids who are just, smart.
I would much rather see us play an old SWC foe instead of
SFA, NTSU, Liberty, etc. SMU leads all-time, I believe,
as this rivalry dates back to the beginning.

They are the Stanford Cardinal, as in color. Maybe with some luck, hard work etc. SMU will play them every year. Just a thought, don't play Liberty or BYU ever again. I have to admit, they are probably the 2 smartest teams in CFB.

I'd like to play Stanford but mostly because it would probably mean SMU football has moved up several notches from its present status. Until SMU wins consistently in conference and against any team from at least the first four P5 conferences who will give us a game, much less go home and home, I'd as soon see Rice.
Even though their band has made me mad at times.

It's better for us to play those schools since they bring more fans to Ford than Rice ever did.
