SPECIAL TEAMS

I thought the Special Teams were a very big weakness last year. Sometimes you would see really poor effort from some. I believe SMU will need better effort & play from this group to reach the 8/9 win total. Not really talking about the Kicker or punter, but the other ones that will be on the field. Any thoughts on who can help improve these areas?

I agree. I am eagerly awaiting to see if we are better on teams this season.

With much better depth at skill positions we should be improved.

In a video posted earlier by PonyPride, Coach Morris (I believe it was) spoke about using starters on special teams this year in order to get athletes on the field.

Pete Carrol at USC would put starters on special teams to make sure the unit performed well and if we have poor kickoff / punt coverage early on in the season we should consider doing the same
