Arkansas State shredded the Nebraska defense for 415 yards and almost beat them, 43-36. It will be a tough game for us.

I was on the sideline of the 2015 New Orleans bowl with Arky State against La Tech. Either team could beat us at that time. Arky State was well coached and prepared. Played hard and had some good athletes. I agree they will present us with a challenge.

I mentioned in another thread that Arkie St had 2 tries from the Neb. 12 to ties the game (or win with a 2 point conversion) on the last 2 plays of the game. I listened to the game on my drive home and they played very well in the second half.

UNT beat an FCS team just as bad as we did. Both could be difficult games.

Arkansas State has Miami in Jonesboro this week. Probably the biggest home game in their history. It will be interesting to see how they do. After that they have a light game with UAPB before us and we will be coming off of TCU.

UCF and Arkansas St. are 2 teams most SMU fans have "penciled in" as definite wins which I think might be optimistic

I, of course, hear a lot of Arkansas State news here. They have all the same hopes, dreams, and aspirations of getting to a P5 conference as do we. And other than Jonesboro, Arkansas, I would say they are equal to or ahead of us right now. But Jonesboro will probably never allow them to do better than moving up to a better conference when some other school departs. They would be an AAC candidate if and when one of our teams leaves.

I watched most of the 2nd half of Arky State and Nebraska at Milo's last night and I was impressed. It will not be the walk in the park the casual fan believes it will be.

ASU is going to be a scorefest. For those of you who like offensive football games, get there early - there is going to be fireworks early and often.

Arky State is always well coached and well coached teams play above their talent level and play hard. In the past their coaches have moved on to good P5 jobs. This game will not be easy.

Ark State and UCF aren't push overs by any stretch of the imagination. But we are good enough now to have a 60% chance of beating both at home.

i don't know why we don't schedule Kansas. No upside in playing ArkSt

Every P5 team in a conference that requires P5 OOC opponents is calling Kansas. Why would they answer our call instead of those from a Big 10 or SEC school?

Plenty of other low hanging P5 fruit.
