in my 22 years

of following SMU athletics what occurred at the end of the 1st half is the most egregious coaching mistake I've witnessed. it is not defendable and it basically ended this game. I know some will defend Morris but not having Courtland on the goal line as a defender is something every decent high school coach would do. His play calling which is highly questionable is bad enough, but this oversight against our rival in a game we could have won is unforgivable

Seemed like the least competitive game in awhile. Only 1.5 quarters did I feel we had any chance.

Umm how is it Chad's fault a bunch of defenders watched the ball the entire way?

This is your plight in life as an SMU football fan. I may only have 15 or 20 years so I'm not going to engulf my life with this [deleted] I fly to Bahamas snorkel drink and watch somebody that has a chance

It would have been nice if one of our 6 DBs left his feet but Reagor probably would have outjumped them anyway -state champion in the Long Jump and has high jumped 6-6-which is hmm good

I was surprised to see no one in front of the receiver and not one player left his feet. Poor execution.

Doesn't matter....for 0 of our defensive players NOT to try to make a play, it's on the coaching. Defensive coordinator or HC, take your pick.

all of you can up with multiple reason, but to not have Courtland in the game at that point is indefensible. and it cost us dearly .at half of the P5 schools it would be a fire able offense

Come on soccermom. Does a coach really have to tell a player to try?

They probably knew they'd be "out-athlete'd" anyway and didn't want to waste the energy

there's not a DB on the field who hasn't known what to do in that situation since he was 9 years old. Heck I read about 1,000 experts on Twitter that knew exactly what to do. Its not rocket science. Players simply screwed up and every one of them would admit it if you asked them

Apparently they do.
