According to several media reports, including the Dallas Morning News, former SMU linebacker Blake Carlisle has died. The cause of death has not been reported. The Dickinson, Texas native signed with SMU last year and left school after one year.

according to Google maps the site of the accident was directly across the channel from the Galveston Royal Caribbean cruise terminal where all those shipping cranes are
