Can anything be done to stop the madness? The length of these games are absolutely insane, even when we're winning, people cannot take it anymore and leave. Without being televised, the game last night was 3 hours and 42 freaking minutes long.

From our attendance for most you could just recommend they change the channel.

The refs last night were atrociously slow! Like no one was in charge.

I never could understand the play not starting when the commercial indicator guy was off the field and the officials would just stand there staring at each other. I kept screaming for them to go back to referee school.

Yes. How about that time when one of the refs stood with the ball for at least a minute figuring out where to place it after a 15 yard penalty. Then put it down right where he was standing. Crazy slow.
Also had a bunch of injuries that slowed the game down.

It was ridiculous-incompetent officials-some of us actually have to stay until the final play.

I left on ASU's last series when I realized Blake Anderson had money on the under and was running out the clock.

Having a 5 hour drive home I was trying to limit game time to 4 hours. I will say getting out of the parking garage is not a problem.

It was painful to sit through all the delays. The refs, injuries, TV TO ect just made watching the 2nd half horrible. No wonder people leave when the game is decided .... To wait until the bitter end is so painful. The games just never end end .
Not like the old days when the refs kept things moving and TV took their ad breaks during on filed TO or injuries.

The game was not on real TV so I think the ads were limited. But even when the guy who would signal the ads were done would leave the field, the officials just stood around looking at each other. They were totally spaced out. Never seen such disorganization with officials.

The schools need to require TV to break for ads when play on the field allows. Or some compromise over the current system of breaking for ads at designated times AND when play stops.
The stadium fans are getting taken advantage of..... Us oldtimers attend out of muscle memory but the younger set don't put up with it.

People keep talking about changing the game to speed it up. The game is a lot like it always has been. It is the commercialism that has added most of the time. I would not mind if they started the clock on ball placement after an incomplete pass with the exception of a intentional spike in the last 2 minutes of half and game. Or just treat incomplete passes like out of bounds, only stopping the clock in the last 2 minutes of each half.
