FPI = Football Power Index-
"The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team's performance going forward for the rest of the season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 10,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule. Ratings and projections update daily."

Original:

Looking at the top half of all the teams (out of Top 65) and a tough conference schedule for us! Sadly, a strong divide between P5 and G5 but one could make a case that we should be considered separate from the other G5s. Anyways, curious what others think!

Breakout by conference:
1) SEC - 13 teams - Avg FPI - 10
2) Big 10 - 11 - Avg FPI - 10
3) ACC - 11 - Avg FPI - 11
4) Pac-12 - 11 - Avg FPI - 9
5) Big-12 - 9 - Avg FPI - 11
6) American - 6 - Avg FPI - 4
7) MWC - 2 - Avg FPI - 2
8.) MAC - 1 - Avg FPI - (0)
9) Ind - 1 - Avg FPI - 17

American Breakdown:

1) #30 - UCF - 9.1 (FPI)
2) #44 - Hou - 4.8 (FPI)
3) #47 - USF - 3.6 (FPI)
4) #51 - Mem - 2.5 (FPI)
5) #57 - SMU - 1.1 (FPI)
6) #62 - Navy - .3 (FPI)

FWIW, TCU FPI # is 18.9 sitting at rank #8. Imagine if we had better execution, no hail mary, our stock would have gone up immensely especially on the road, but oh well.

I see numbers but no explanation of how numbers were generated and what they mean.

SMU at #57 sounds about right at this point in the season; plenty of time to move up.

It's all about Sagarin. It's a real snapshot with opportunity to climb. Not ESPN guesswork.

I don't know if I agree that Baylor is better than us.

Baylor almost beat OU. We'll never know. We only play regional P5 foes when they're in the top 25.
