Jordan Wyatt invents a new kind of backpedal

I have never heard of a defensive back backpedaling when a running back is 10 yards past the line of scrimmage with the ball and running directly at said defensive back. Yet Wyatt used this curious technique not once but twice against UCF.

The scary thing is, he seems to be one of the better tacklers in our defensive backfield...

Open field is tough. Miss the tackle and the man scores. Backpedal to slow him down and let others defenders catch up and surround.

I always consider Van Malone an innovator

I thought SMU Coaches called a great game on both sides of the ball-SMU just didn't execute well on Offense and on Defense we don't have the talent to execute the plan especially at DB and LB-also you can't stop a RB that hits the line at 90 mph unless you at least slow him down at the Line. Or at least our DBs don't have world class speed that can stop that play
