USF To Build IPF with Corporate and Private Funding

40 Million (although there is no schedule yet because funding is not yet complete)

Serious question-is it time for SMU to consider more corporate sponsorship of its athletic facilities. Sure its nice to have the big time donor at a Private School but the synergy of partnerships between large state universities and corporate sponsorships is getting harder and harder to keep up with. Its almost routine in sports these days anyway Is it really such a big deal? I would think the days of strictly alumni support of facility projects may be coming to an end. I'd gladly accept the Dr. Pepper Complex-then we fill our vending machine with Dr. Pepper products). Who really cares-everything is a sponsorship these days anyway-we've got to consider anything that keeps SMU in the game

We absolutely should have corporate tie ins to the IPF and program overall. The Plains Capital IPF has a nice wring to it. Another alumn pointed out to me at the last game that corporate sponsors used to pay for a lot of the free tickets being handed out to start Mustang Mania.....surely we could find some corporate sponsors again that would be willing to pay $10-$12 a ticket for any that are handed out in the community and the person that picks it up actually comes and scans it thus triggering the charge, otherwise the company doesn't get billed.

Well we gave up a prime spot to the Turpin tennis facility. But this kind of stuff begs the question: don’t we have an internationally renowned business school? Isn’t our law school one of the best in the nation? Why are we having so much trouble dealing with the NCAA or funding our facilities?!? Come on professors, help us out! Pick up the phone!

DFW has more Fortune 500 companies than 45 of the 50 states in the US.

It is the financial / commerce center of the southwest.

Yes they should be pursuing Corporate Sponsorships and yes it is long overdue.

I would totally be on board with Sewell’s IPF and show all the car brands on the roof.

I would much rather have the Sewell IPF than the Sewell red zone

Along with every single first down "presented by Sewell" - that's gotten really annoying this season. And the announcer has been sounding more and more apologetic every time he's had to say it, too.
