I know a lot of you crow that this team is performing exactly as you predicted, and exactly as it should be; and we’re beating exactly who we should beat, and we’re losing exactlyto who we should lose to, but that doesn’t seem like a speech from a coach whose team is playing like he expected. Lots of talk these last two weeks about finding the inner “want-to” to try to match the other team’s, which is concerning. Hope coach can spark something culture-wise this week. It doesn’t sound like anyone is having much fun.

Losing (whether to a better team or not), it isn't much fun.

And if you have ever been there, when you goals set start to become unattainable, the extra push you need just is not there. Ironically, had they not become bowl eligible as early as they did we may have seen better late season performance. Of course, the wins and losses would be the same or worse.

I think Lawler said something that I have believed for many years quoting a Clemson D coordinator: O coordinators are afraid to go back to run plays that work. Plays that can be run until the D shows they can respond. Memphis made a living on several basic run plays and we never adapted or stopped these very basic run plays. If we cannot stop very basic plays when we know they are coming as Lawler indicated, then this D is in more than serious trouble.

Betting based on the predictions of a team's players and/or coaches are sucker bets. Everyone always overrates their own potential-then reality hits. That's why you shouldn't always listen to people too close to a situation-hint hint-because they are so focused on their own "propaganda" but not their opponents
