He's currently unemployed (only 62), was a DB and DC coach most of his career before going to the pros as a HC. He has all the cash he'll ever need; he knows the PRO game. He has a much better win % in the NFL as a HC than Chad will ever achieve in the junior leagues.

So, offer Fox about $1.2M+ and the challenge of recruiting and molding SMU players into superb, NFL-quality "thunder-clappers"!!! BOOM!!!

So, let's hire J. Fox and unleash some Mustang Slobberknockin' in 2019 and on. Maybe he can even resurrect the 2018 defensive season.

Fox told 9News’s Mike Klis that he intends to wait for the head coaching market to settle before looking for a new job, possibly as a defensive coordinator somewhere.


Fox had 22 years of experience as a defensive backs coach and defensive coordinator before landing his first head coaching job. He seems willing to go back to that, and he’s made it quite clear that he fully expects to find a new job sooner rather than later.
