Offense Scores Three Times During Morning 11-on-11

DALLAS, TEXAS -- Head coach Mike Cavan put his Mustang football team through
two-a-day practices again on Thursday at the SMU Practice Fields. The Ponies
worked out in full pads for two hours in the morning then returned for a
75-minute session in shells in the afternoon.

"I think we are improving," said Cavan. "I see progress and great effort
from our guys. We have a ways to go but I like what we have accomplished to
this point."

During the 11-on-11 portion of the morning practice, the SMU offense was
able to score three touchdowns. David Page hit Johnnie Freeman with a
scoring pass while Kelan Luker found Jay Taylor for a TD pass as well. Both
of those scores came during the redzone portion of the drills. In goal line
drills, Keylon Kincade scored on a seven-yard run.

The lone injury of the day occurred during inside drills when defensive
tackle Allen Adami suffered a sprained left ankle.

SMU will workout twice on Friday then hold its first scrimmage of the fall
on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in Gerald J. Ford Stadium. Prior to the
scrimmage, from 3:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m., the SMU athletic department
will hold an open house at the stadium. Season and single game tickets will
be on sale during the open house.

Hope Adami gets better quickly. He was coming along nicely.

Also heard Marcus Walker sat out practice with a bad shoulder. With the thin numbers on the defensive line, we need him healthy and ready to go. Get better quickly.
