I actually think that might be true. Morris probably wanted some extra room on his roster and knows where our shortages are. No reason I can think of that this kid would have picked SMU out of the blue. Someone pointed him to us. He is not a bad player and will be a good addition for us.

We've got commitments from commitments from 3 backup grad transfers DE Noah Westerfield (Cal-13 tackles in 2017), DE Jake Hall (Arkansas-12 tackles), DB Cole Stearns (Northern Arizona-11 tackles)

Not sure these kids bring enough to the table. Their playing time is at the expense of the experience of younger players.

If those were the targets, I'm not sure how realistic they were for SMU. Singleton went home and Hines went from a small P5 school to being courted by much larger ones in Oregon, USC & Texas. https://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.c ... ari-hines/
