Looks like UALR is possibly on the verge of adding football. They have just completed an in depth study as to what it would take including women’s sports additions for Title IX. When the interviewer asked the AD when a decision would be made, power at the radio station went out and cut off the call so not sure how soon they will decide yet.

I would have guessed UALR already had football, but I get all of the Arkansas schools confused anyway.

Might want to read the report. Sure doesn't look like they will add it any time soon

It is over 350 pages long. Listening to the AD you can tell he wants it. It will all depend on big money backers. I do not know how many of those there are.
AD said Women’s Volleyball, softball, bowling could be started up quickly.

Well, they are a member of the Sunbelt Conference in all sports but football right now so they'd be walking into a conference well made for their needs with opponents their fanbase will already recognize, and since the SBC has only 10 schools but have a championship game there is room for them. I'd imagine they could use the stadium in LR that's already there for the razorbacks, they just need to find coaches and build practice facilities.

The radio station lost power? Sounds like a Paul Jr tactic against UAB.

Haha. Really don’t know what happened. They were still broadcasting but something popped and they phone connection went dead. They tried dialing back and only got busy signals. Could have been that UALR did not pay their phone bill which could be the answer as to whether or not start a FB team.

Many years ago (in my lifetime, which is a long time) they had football. Jimmy Karam was the coach I believe. After the shut down the football program he went into the clothing business on Main Street. I think he also worked promoting Orville Faubus.

I'm still pulling for Liberty Bible College. If Baylor can get by with playing them, why can't we? (Oh, wait, how did that work out for Baylor?)

To paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen:
I knew Sid McMath. Sid McMath was a friend of mine. Mark Rydel is no Sid McMath.
