After seeing Game 1 of the Sonny experience, what is your revised record prediction for this season?

Sonny is fired after going 0-4 before Houston Baptist.

Cincy handled UCLA today. I think most had them inked in as a win. Best change to a pencil.

This is the stupidest thing I’ve seen on here in a while. We all thought there was a decent chance we would be 0-4.

So wait. I’m dumb for saying what others were saying? How does that make sense. Also why would we not think 1-3 with NTCC being a win. Man standards have gone down in just one year.

Gloom and doom after that grotesque display of “football”. That was 2014 JJ abandonment bad. Should be able to best Houston Baptist, Connecticut and one of Tulsa/Tulane. 2012 tells me winning in NO is not a guarantee. If the team get more than 3 wins I will be surprised. This perpetual rebuild is tiring.
That tackling tonight or lack thereof is classic SMU defense. Because the first guy cant wrap up another 6-8 yards are awarded.

You show up every time something doesn't go well and do this same crap.

False. I show up after every game good and bad. It’s just been a lot more bad things recently, which gave you that bias. Think about it this game, fall of SMU March madnesss, the bowl game, Sonny being hired, Chad leaving, etc.

The team looked horrible. The defense was outplayed. The offensive line looked weak. The WRs were out of position constantly. And Ben Hicks should NOT be starting.
If North Texas beat us this badly, what do you think Michigan will do to us in the big house? They might be sniffing 80.
I will be VERY surprised if Sonny Dykes lasts all season.

Obviously the point was that 0-4 won't be a surprise and therefore won't get SD fired. Sonny Dykes has the best recruiting class in the G5 for 2019. No one is going to fire him before those kids take the field.

Then prepare to be surprised. Phil Bennett got 3 more years after he started winless. Rome wasn’t built in a day either. What a lot of us thought might’ve been the case seems to be true - 2 NFL receivers, with one maybe being the best receiver in college football last year, elevated an at-best mediocre and rebuilding football team. But let’s be quick to judge a new coaching staff after 1 game. There’s work to be done for sure but the head coach and coordinators have experience, something we can rarely say at SMU. Let’s see how they adjust. And would you expect to beat Michigan in Ann Arbor even if we destroyed UNT today? Lastly, take a look at the current recruiting class and rankings before you predict our first-year coach won’t last the season. See y’all at Ford Friday.

Scheduling unt was and always will be a horrible idea. No upside for us. Only downside. Typical smu.
