For the Defense...what a change a year makes...

BOP mentioned in a thread below the fact that this defense has actually shown a "spine"...the final three Tulane offensive series were virtually stuffed by a defense that I would not have given a plugged nickel for after last year.

The defense is largely responsible for the Navy win too, and has had to come together on the fly. While still not even mediocre by AAC standards, it has grown, and the possibility of actually slowing or stopping teams actually comes to mind.

Yeah, great throw and catch by Hicks and Proche for the points, but the D won this one...never thought I would say that after last year.

Agreed. The defense seems much improved!

Giving Tulane the ball with 2 minutes to play and still down 2 shows that Sonny has a lot of confidence in the D. I was thinking "game over" at that point and was sure Tulane would pick up at least one 1st down to ice the game
