Is there no such thing as targeting by a running back? It sure looked like the Tulane guy targeted on that 3 yard run.

No such thing; would be virtually impossible to implement as runner so often drops his head and shoulders before contact...and they are hardly "defenseless"...more like a missle coming at you.

It's too bad the game was close so we couldn't be more aggressive in getting him back.
Would have been worth 15 yards.

Have to wonder whether Onu might be lost for an extended period with concussion issues. That was quite a shot he took.

I think that is an NFL rule now although I have not seen it enforced

I've seen it called on an offensive player but I don't think it was a QB-think it was an OLineman

This is where the rules are just not the same for offense as they are for the defense. The offense can lead with their head and facemask pretty much all they want and it won't get called. The defense has to pick up the player, deliver them gently to the ground, putting a pillow behind their heads as they land, or it will be a penalty.
I'm all for protecting a player, but let's make it equal on both sides, and let's not be so quick to throw the flag on clean, but tough, hits.
