This is the greatest defensive turnaround I have seen anywhere in years.

F a bowl. Take the division.

Still trail Houston by a game so will need help from someone and still need to run the table

Houston is done. Temple, Memphis, Tulane.

Houston has Temple and Tulane at home and Memphis in Memphis. We have the tie breaker against them head to head. If Tulane beats them, I would hope we would hold a tie breaker if it becomes a 3 way tie with Houston, Tulane and SMU because we would have beaten both of them. Bottom line is that we need to win out to have any hope and need some help from someone against Houston. All of a sudden I actually believe that might be possible.

Agreed. We have a very solid chance. If we run the table. Let's take a hard look at remaining games.

1. If we lose to UConn (AT Uconn) we don't deserve to win the division or a bowl game.
2. Memphis. Probably best chance to lose. They are still very athletic, especially on offense, and dangerous.
3. Tulsa. AT Tulsa. If we are playing for the division, you think we'd like our chances here. Being AT Tulsa is tough and they are better than their record shows.

Imagine if we would have beaten Cincy (really really should have) and didn't crap the bed against NTSU. Very real possibility of winning 9 games (10 if you count a bowl) in SonnyD's first year! Could still win 7 (8 with a bowl win).

I am starting to think the same thing.

It is definitely time to block off December 19 on the calendar!

This is the week I would usually shift all of my hopes away from Football and onto Basketball.

Not this year.

Exactly.

We simply cannot have nice things.

Sad but true.

They lose one and we continue to win and we take first.

Houston plays Temple next week. We play UConn.

I like our chances.

getting healthy especially Natour, Pursley, Kemon Freeman, Delointe Scott and Xavier Jones and we could win out especially if we open up the offense like we have in the last 6 quarters. They flipped the game plan during that period and have gotten away from the excessive runs up the middle on first and 2nd down. Open it up-take some shots and running game will improve. With just a little luck that could-should have been 2 straight wins against Top 25 teams. I doubt that has happened since the 1980s. Xavier looked quicker last nite but he's still falling under the weight of his own body when making cuts.

Houston will be favored to win all three of those.
