"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
... "Hit it."
Re: ESPN.com: Shane Buechele reportedly considering SMUThis would be a game changer if it happens. With 2 years of immediate eligibility, I think we could be competing for titles.

Re: ESPN.com: Shane Buechele reportedly considering SMUBorn leader and can play. 50X better than Hicks
Re: ESPN.com: Shane Buechele reportedly considering SMU
There is not much evidence of that. He got benched b/c he threw too many picks and couldn't do much of anything if the pocket collapsed. He throws a nice deep ball but he has many of the same issues as Hicks.
Re: ESPN.com: Shane Buechele reportedly considering SMUHe dies throw a nice pass but has feet of cement
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: ESPN.com: Shane Buechele reportedly considering SMU
I hope he doesn’t die throwing
Re: ESPN.com: Shane Buechele reportedly considering SMUCan I buy a voul?

Re: ESPN.com: Shane Buechele reportedly considering SMUMuch better accuracy, much better throwing motion and doesn't lose his grip on throws to the sideline.
He didn't run much at UT, but was much better running the ball in high school. He will be an upgrade over Hicks in terms of completing the "easy" passes and making the offense more efficient. Not sure if he is an upgrade or not on the deep ball. Most of his stuff at UT was pre-snap read, and throw a quick pass. He wasn't asked to scan the field and go through progressions. That will be the biggest question - if that aspect has come in with maturity. Part of the reason Ellinger beat him out was running ability, but also because SE is a "gamer". He could figure out how to make things work behind a poor offensive line. SB needs a pocket to be successful throwing the ball down the field, just like BH did. SB would be a welcome component, but even more important is the continued development of Morris/Ali/Thomas/Livingston and finding a RG.

Bullseye.
Re: ESPN.com: Shane Buechele reportedly considering SMUmy sources tell me Shane Buechele is a nice band-aid until Sonny develops a recruit. Supposedly Shane Buechele is a little bit better at most QB skills than Ben Hicks. Basically we are getting an "upgraded better Ben Hicks" when our options are relatively limited for August 31, 2019.

Re: ESPN.com: Shane Buechele reportedly considering SMUI read something out of UT where Tom Herman had an emotional speech in front of the Texas team in which he described Shane Buechele as the greatest backup player he had ever seen, because of the way he supported and mentored the Sam Ehlinger. Assuming he does, in fact, end up at SMU, I hope he gets the starting job and takes on a similar mentor's role for Brown, Upshaw, Green and Gibson.
Re: ESPN.com: Shane Buechele reportedly considering SMUIf Shane comes to SMU, he’s starting on August 31 against Arkansas St
