Didn't the Beattles do a song about SMU football a long time ago?
Yesterday, the bottom ten seem so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday
Suddenly, we're not half the team we used to be
There's a shadow hanging over Varsity
Oh, yesterday came suddenly
Why we had 2 years DP Pye wouldn't say
Paying players wasn't wrong, now I long for yesterday
Yesterday, football and winning was an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh, I believe in yesterday

Heh, I remember the Year we finished first in the Bottom 10. In the comments section was a hilarious post from an SMU fan basically giving an awards speech:
"We are honored and humbled to win this award. First of all, we have to thank Phil Bennett for running the up the middle vanilla handoff on 80% of our offensive plays....."

I like whoever's taken over the writing for ESPN's list. They're having a lot of fun making up the names.

Freshman band bus song 2007 was to Do Wah Diddy:
"Up the middle, up the middle middle punt"

"And yeah, guy with the Hog on his head, don't be bragging about that squeaker over Portland State." Hahaha.
