1984 was the last time SMU was 4-0. Man, this feels good. Keep up the good work Coach Dykes, staff, and team.

Should note that # 23 Cal went on the road and beat Ole Miss. The same Cal team that eeked out a win against UNT on it's home field. Can't wait to hear how the writers and coaches justify not voting for SMU to join the Top 25 next week. At least we can expect more than one coaches vote.

I think the team has a good chance to get into the Top 25.

Baylor will destroy Rice and be voted in before us. If Okie State can beat Texas they are definitely in before SMU. USC beating # 10 Utah last night will have them in ahead of us, too

At the least I think SMU get votes but I really think they have a chance to make it. But we’ll see. Either way up I am very proud of this team.

Expect SMU to be on the cusp. Don't expect them to crack the top 25.
If we win next week at USF, and an upset or two happens in the top 25, then I expect to be in.
But I'll be honest with you - if I was a sports journalist, I would LOVE to vote for SMU for no other reason than a conversation starter, so we've got that going for us.

Definitely one that would have been a great trip home. Might even miss the Miss State announcer to relive the glory!

I am more impressed with our 2019 actual student athletes than the 1984 team.

Cal lead 20-0 after the first quarter against UNT. They simply coasted home.

UCF, A&M, WSU, ASU and TCU all lost. Mixed results in the ORV category as well. SMU will definitely be in that category next week, but leaping into the top 25 probably would have required beating a top 10 team.
App State was already receiving votes and after winning at UNC, look for them to be on the edge of the top 25.

2 things stood out to me in this game:
buchelle>freshman qb
all those other transfers peppered all over our defense who are CONTRIBUTING.
sonny's genius in use of tranfer portal has made what i saw as a second rebuiding yr-- is making huge strides possible. is there another school that has done this so well?

I've already reminded the athletic reporter of the committment he made to me to rank us.
But I don't think we will be ranked at all. The conversation has already started about how horrible the TCU QBs are. We will have to blow out USF and have others lose to get ranked next week.
My prediction is that we actually receive lass votes than Michigan.
