I dont get why people say that the games, except for maybe 2 in recent memory, aren't entertaining. While we generally do not like Chad, every game I remember was always down to the last 5 minutes.

Actually, the lock prediction was, if SMU won Patterson would find something or someone to assign blame other than himself.

Patterson shouldn't have done that. I know he's frustrated, but he should take the blame as the HC does, not pull a Leach and throw his own guy in front of a bus.

He conveniently forgot that TCU boosters were also "making it rain" and they were still losers!

That article is spot on. A little surprising considering the author.

That's what I was thinking. Engel is known around FW as an unabashed Frog cheerleader, which gets pretty nauseating for Mustangs living over here, but he absolutely nailed this one. Patterson was gutless to throw Cumbie to the wolves without explaining why his defense let Buechele and the Mustangs carve them up.

It also speaks to recruiting. Everyone knows that quarterback is the most important position, but this game showed that a pretty good quarterback is not enough — those are your "bus driver" QBs that Bill Parcells hates. Regardless of what you have elsewhere, you have to have a stud QB to have a chance to win.

I think the kid is going to be a good quarterback.

And I respect what Patterson has built, clearly whatever he's doing works. But I can't help but see him constantly yelling at his players, etc. Why the eff would anyone want to play for someone like that? Eff that.

They want to play for him because he wins and develops his players. He's their coach not their BFF.
