To sell out the stadium and sell tickets for the area code. This is another way to get some T-shirt fans. I think a seat sold for $2.00 is better than an unsold seat.

Hart/Turner would rather charge $25 a ticket as a "special" because money is everything to them

We don’t have people in the athletic department who are that creative

As said in a previous thread. SMU more likely to offer 21.40 tickets than 2.14 ones...

And also find a company that is willing to buy up the last 10000 seats and give them away.

On Friday, Ashley Furniture bought 1000 tickets for the SMU- Memphis game and Alumni George Johnson bought tickets so that all faculty and staff could attend the game.

Understand that Memphis has had what 6 straight years of success/winning seasons. We aren't even close. That's why we have to let coaches, players know that we are finally having A season. If we can win out then this is how you build a fan base. Now with our upcoming OOC schedules, that won't help sell out but maybe we can truly get to 75% capacity, butts in seats, consistently. Time will tell. I think casual fans and spectators are seeing if we are just a fluke or an actual uptick in performance.
Since 2014, they have been 53-22:
10-3 - 2014
9-4 - 2015
8-5 - 2016
10-3 - 2017
8-6 - 2018
8-1 - 2019
Conversely, we have been 28 - 42:
1-11 - 2014
2-10 - 2015
5-7 - 2016
7-6 - 2017
5-7 - 2018
8-1 - 2019

In the meantime, we need a Russ Potts barrage for the final 2 games.

Could our athletic director and staff do this, without leaving the comfort of their office chairs?

Wasn't there a Mustang 11 and it was disbanded due to lack of interest. I don't think Mustang Mania is going to all of a sudden drive interest. Not trying to give Rick an out here.

The reason to basically give the seats away is because of our lack of winning seasons. If we really want to be Dallas’ team, get them in the stadium. Start building a new, Dallas fan base by getting them to the remaining games and get them excited about SMU football. Winning is the only reason they would have a desire to go to a game in the first place. Seems like now is a good time to start.

If it's free there is no perceived value.

Gameday is why they sold out their stadium.
