Still think SMU gets no recognition? Not so fast, my friends!

Great to see the great Vic Viloria named to the Butkus Award Watch list (see the link on the PonyFans.com home page). He's been the heart and soul of our defense for two years, and it's nice to see him get the publicity he deserves. Whether he can win, of course, is a longshot -- he's only a junior, and the national media is in love with Rocky Calmus at Oklahoma, as well as other LB's at national power schools. But if he gets this kind of mention this year, maybe he'll be on the list of preseason candidates next year. Vic is going to have a great year, lead the WAC in tackles again, and put himself in place among the top LB's in the nation.

Congratulation Vic! Well deserved and great for SMU!

Any idea why he didn't play in the scrimmage the other night?

Vic, WAY TO GO! You have worked so hard all of the years you have played football. Since you were a little boy linebacker in the playground, through your high school years, and now at SMU you have always worked hard and put your team above yourself. The Butkus Award nomination is something we all feel you deserve! We couldn't be happier or prouder of you.
