This is a two-man race between Briggs and TexasTech's Ricky Williams. In the history of the award, haven't over half the winners come from Texas schools?

UT's Ricky Williams - twice, I think
Rice's Trevor Cobb - which was ridiculous
TCU's LaDanian Tomlinson - that one was a gimme
Tech's Byron Hanspard - also crazy
