Memphis practiced yesterday (Sept. 19) for the first time since Sept. 8, and it was an abbreviated "walk through type thing" per their coach. Memphis media reports that as many as 42 players may have had to quarantine following their Sept. 5 game with Arkie State, likely as the result of a celebration players held after the game, a celebration that may or may not have involved a"party bus."
The Tigers cancelled games set for yesterday and next Saturday, so the Oct. 3 game with SMU will be their first game in four weeks. Memphis is very talented, but we should do a better job executing with our recent game experience.
And, I'm no exercise physiologist, but it seems to me that two weeks is not much time for elite athletes to recover from two weeks of being confined to their rooms.

I agree. They have a month break between games. Meanwhile we get 3 tune up games. And consistent practice since early August.
We will be rolling by then and get the win at home.
The CDC needs to hire Sonny to run the country’s coronavirus response.

We were a ton more fit yesterday than we were two weeks ago, when a lot of our players were just exiting quarantine. Bentley is a great example of that. 6 carries with an IV compared to 20 and 200 yards. They can get fit in two weeks, but I agree about the sharpness.

Latest from Memphis football -- they still have players in quarantine and plan just 2 practices this week, "modified" due to player availability.

1-0 Memphis is currently ranked in the Top 20 (17, I think). Unfortunately that will change by the time that we play them when Big10 schools are included. Perhaps we will be the ranked team in that matchup.

Let's hope they get well enough to play.

Didn't hurt our guys to have an extra week off after a less than stellar opening day performance so hard to say what extra practice time might do to/for Memphis

Or they will be well rested, recovered, and chomping at the bit to take it to somebody. Hopefully we're just sharper, more focused and tough. Toughness is key, they've kind of been our Pistons (if we were the late 80s/early 90s Bulls).
