AP Top 25: #22 SMU - Week 9I'm sorry but that's being too kind to us. However, I'll take it if the team can get it's act together these next few games.
Reforecast: 8-3 W - vs Navy (3-3) - barely beat ECU and had a similar performance with Tulane, I'm going to say, as hard it is to think, they will snap back with a W W - @ Temple (1-2) - Lost to navy, and barely beat USF and Memphis beat them pretty good, I think they will continue L - @ Tulsa (2-1) - this is a big trap game but Tulsa is rated higher than us in metrics and team rankings. They beat UCF and only lost by 9 to Okie State. Still I'm hoping the do what they always do and lose in glorious fashion. L - vs Houston (2-1) - I think we lose this one based on our Cincy performance. I think Houston is going to be the surprise #2 in the conference despite the few games they have played W - @ ECU (1-3) - it's ECU; unless we just have an atrocious performance like yesterday even against them then this should be a win Conference Championship - Cincy vs Houston Bowl Game - probably Frisco ESPN Reaction to Top 25: "The final score feels a bit harsh considering Cincinnati scored two touchdowns in the final five minutes but that doesn't change the fact that SMU's attempt at running the table is over. This is still a team that could win out and get to 10 wins in the regular season, starting next week against Navy. -- Bonagura" Last edited by SMU_Alum11 on Sun Nov 01, 2020 1:49 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: AP Top 25: #22 SMUI would agree that # 22 ranking seems generous after that debacle last night. If these guys can beat Navy easily (like other good teams have done), then I might become a believer once again
Re: AP Top 25: #22 SMUThe ranking is a reflection of how good cincy is. The first 3 quarters was a very good football game.
That said, if Gray is out for an extended period, this is going to be a long end to the season.
Re: AP Top 25: #22 SMUthe way we played yesterday we don't deserve to be in the top 40
totally unprepared and not ready to accept the challenge. that is on both the players and coaches
Re: AP Top 25: #22 SMU
Conversely, sometimes you play against a really, really good team. For the previous two games, our offense was completely dependent on the long play. That doesn't work against really good defenses. We need better OL play to have the consistency we need to succeed on offense.
Re: AP Top 25: #22 SMUAAC and SMU still getting plenty of respect

Re: AP Top 25: #22 SMUAAC. four teams in top 25. Power six for sure.

Re: AP Top 25: #22 SMUWe had a winnable game against a Top Ten opponent. A few catches instead of drops and one less penalty and better clock management at the end of the first half, and we might be crowing today. We are not far off from being a very dangerous football team. Consider we also were missing our top two wideouts and our best between the tackles running back.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: AP Top 25: #22 SMU[deleted] we are 5-1 in a power six conference! Definitely worthy of number 22.

Re: AP Top 25: #22 SMUI predict we move to #18. If we beat Temple then #17 which then would put us and Tulsa (assuming the win) at like a #17 vs #20 match up.

Re: AP Top 25: #22 SMU - Week 9It is going to be interesting watching the Navy Tulsa game. I am not sure how Tulsa prepares...for the pass or the run.
