This is shaping up to be the biggest SMU football game in decades. Our hated rival who is finally hating us again after we took a couple of their top recruits and with us holding the skillet. I hate their arrogance, their school, their students, their city, their HC and everything about them.

My cousins who went to SMU in the 80s really really hate TCU. I went to SMU in the early 2000s, and while they are the team I want to beat most every year, hates a strong word (in fact I always cheer for them to beat the blue bloods/win bcs games)

I grew up in a SMU family, and started really paying attention to all things Mustangs in the late 60’s. From the mid 6o’s up to the death penalty, it WAS TCWho!?!! Post DP, they had their way, obviously. I don’t hate TCU as I maintain, that besides football over the last 20 years, SMU is a superior university and I would never trade my degree, never. Deep down, the Froggie faithful know this. I wish them well...shows us what’s possible, but hate?, like Pappas Bros hating on the Sizzler.

Clearly the TCU/Baylor game has been more competitive and meaningful since the frogs joined the Big XII and most of the big rivalry games are now conference games (even Texas/OU joins the ranks of OU/Okie St, Alabama/Auburn, GA/FL, Mich/OSU, Mich/Mich St, UCLA/USC, etc...). Let's just hope SMU keeps improving and that someday the frogs view our game as their Super Bowl like UNT does when they play us

Funny enough. When I was at SMU, TCU simply sucked, and we killed them. Our hate was reserved for those cows in burnt orange uniforms. Given that they blew up the SWC, the Big XII, constantly ratted us out to the NCAA, and have refused to play us since, they have not gotten out of jail in my opinion.

A very good friend and I attended the SMU - TCU game at Amon G. Carter in 1985 where the 'Stangs put a major azz-whuppin' on dem Frogs.

Just to rub it in a bit we dined at Massey's after the game (well, I had never tried their chicken fried steak). Oh yeah, I went strutting in wearing a blue 1982 Mustangs game jersey......SWEET!!!
