This is where it is going to get really interesting. What holds more weight in paying athletes? The size of an Alumni base or the location?
My guess is that they are going to be pretty equal, but a significant advantage will be driven by schools with both - Texas, Ohio State, UCLA...

Fella who owned the Pontiac dealership back in the day here that provided the "deal" with ED's "grandmother" has gone on to that great Aggie reward....his family is still involved in a couple of dealerships in the Brazos Valley.
Lexus and GM. Watch for the gold Chevy Citation to show up on campus....

Paying interviewees automatically makes it a PR piece, at best - they can get those guys to say whatever the site wants. That site already had zero credibility. Nothing changes with this move.

Anyone else see how the Bama qb has picked up almost a million in endorsements, per his coach.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUFWMfMuLUwKen Andrews said it best. If you want the best athletes you've got to be willing to pay. I don't think the size of the alumni base or location of the university matter nearly as much as having alumni willing to pay. If Tulsa had a T. Boone Pickens bankrolling the team they could probably land the top recruits despite being the smallest FBS school and not being in one of the top markets nationally.
