It’s a good read, but outdated a bit. Since it was written three years ago, it obviously doesn’t take into consideration what happened with the Big 12.

Maybe we are surprised like when they announced Sonny as coach... quickly.

I think the AAC needs to move in two tracks and see where it all leads: (1) Talk to Boise, BYU, San Diego State, UNLV, Air Force and Army about some sort of new AAC. That would get them three more large metro areas and cement the service academies as well as BYU with a National following and tell the Big XII to pound sand. (2) Talk to the Big XII and say we'll take TCU, Baylor (or TT), Kansas, Kansas State and OSU. TT/Baylor, WV and ISU are on their own. Either way, we're toe to toe with Power 5. This would force the Pac-12 and Big X to start making calls or being locked at 12.

Let’s be serious…SMU is not now a serious contender in football or basketball…we have a very weak AD…we are lucky tohave a wonderful football coach that is attracting quality players,but we are certainly not expected to win our conference…there are a lot of questions about our basketball program….Texas university will not eventhinkaboutplayingusinanysport and TCU holds us in disdain…we now play north Texas …all this makes me sick,but that is where I see us…I see one writer describe us as “conference killers”…what we have is a strong hip pocket…the city ofDallas and a clean, attractive campus ( with great fountains)…I am hopeful we will not be left behind again,but I have little confidence in our ad and turner.so,there.

Positive Mental Attitude.

For me we get the Baylor, Tcu, Osu and others to join. Would love to have academies also.

My hip pocket is not strong so I can only voice a few thoughts.
