Running back Ulysses Bentley visited with PonyFans.com (no idea why the video overexposed) to discuss his added bulk, how the running backs are splitting carries in preseason camp, and which of the newcomers has impressed him.

Keke Burns visited with PonyFans.com to discuss the move from offense to defense, how his physique has changed during his preparation for the move to linebacker, and the injury that ended his freshman season.

Bentley hoping to play at 200 lbs and Keke has put on 45 lbs since arriving at SMU. Our guys are growing up fast!

Meet Burns in person, and it's impossible to not notice the difference. Two years ago, he was a tall, lanky kid — looked like most freshman receivers. It's almost hard to believe this is the same guy.

How has Burns looked at that OLB spot? Who has been getting the first and second team reps there - Denbow, Phillips, and Burns?

Burns looks promising — raw at times, but promising. At times he looks like someone who has been playing receiver the last couple of years, but there also are times when he looks like a 6-4 linebacker with long arms and serious wheels. He can get tied up at times when a lineman gets locked in on him ... but he also has the speed to get around some blockers, and the added size to throw running backs who try to block him. He's impressive when he drops into coverage, since he has two years of familiarity with the offense, and he can really run for a linebacker. He could become especially effective against tight ends — he can run with any of them — and running backs, against whom he'll always have a height advantage. His background as a high school safety and cornerback should help him adjust to coverage, and it's reasonable to assume he'll earn a bigger role as he gets more comfortable with the defense.

LOVE that Keke is up to 230. And love his spunk. Hoping for great things for him at the LB position. We need his talent there!
