I see no reason to think we would sleep on this. We didn't 8n 2019 when we throttled them at their home stadium after beating TCU.

Looking at USF as objectively as possible:
1) skunked by NC state
2) 13 Florida - it was 35-3 by 1st half and only 2 TDs in 2nd half when Florida took off the gas.
3) FAMU - FCS was a fight in the first quarter but made space by the 2nd quarter.
4) BYU - BYU played 2 "Top 25" PAC schools and 1 other PAC - Utah lost to SDSU and BYU so doesn't seem Premier and ASU looks like a good win though it is the PAC. BYU was up 22 point until late 3rd quarter and USF made it interesting in the 4th.

USF had little passing and decent rushing yards against BYU and was efficient in 4th downs.

I think our run defense is solid and we will follow a similar plan like we did with TCU in forcing them to throw the ball. McClain longest throw was 26 yard but most of it is 5-15 yard passes. With that I think our defense will cheat up and contain his running game. Our offense will decimate their defense in both running and passing.

I expect (official prediction):
First half: 35-7
Final: 56-35

If offense sputters:
First half: 14-7
Second half: 42-38

SMU wins 45-24. Tanner throws 4 more TD passes and we don't miss any PATs. Just hope Bentley is back and at full strength for this one.

USF found a little something in the second half against BYU, where they played ball control and limited the game to just 6 possessions (3 each way).

I'd like to see us over 40 and them under 20. But I can see them trying to turn this into a grind it out game, slowing the pace of play down.

They win time of possession because we score so quickly.

Isn't that what we think we are? A top 25 team that they are playing on the road?

I would be really surprised if this game hits the over. But if we can cover a 20 point spread against this team, that would be a better result than Florida or BYU and should clearly establish us as a Top 25 team.
