Nailed it

Each week, SMU football has put out a social media post identifying its offensive player of the week, defensive player of the week ... special teams ...scout team ...

This week, the post for offensive player of the week included photos of Jaylon Thomas, Hayden Howerton, Marcus Bryant, Alan Ali, Beau Morris, Justin Osborne and Cameron Ervin.

Lots of Mustangs — Tanner Mordecai, Ulysses Bentley, Tre Siggers, Danny Gray, Rashee Rice, Reggie Roberson — had big weeks in Fort Worth, but the offensive line was as good as it has looked in years.

Kudos to the OL. They clearly won the battle in the trenches!

I attended the NTSU game (my first ever at Ford) and was dismayed by the OL's first half performance. I wasn't particularly impressed by their game with La Tech, either, so I was pessimistic going into the TCU game.

Man, what happened? The schemes were good and our OL looked like road graders on almost every rushing play and pass protection was really good overall.

I can't say enough how much I enjoyed the last 4 minutes! Great work OL, OL coaches and coordinators.

BTW, I'm loving the energy and intensity that Coach L is bringing to our D. Lots of room for improvement, but I don't go into each game now thinking we have to score 45 to win.

birddogger, you nailed it, as well, and captured my anxiety, which evaporated on our last series. Seeing the Victory Formation was the topper.

I think Sonny was good to apologize because it's always better to ask forgiveness then to assume innocence in these cases and thankfully plenty of evidence has come out showing it was unsubstantiated. Good on Hart to back the team and really cornering fatterson in this debacle. I do pray that Kill is okay as we all should.
