Re: AP: SMU #23 on 10/10
Pretty impressive company. Hope our guys can finish this season as the 2nd half schedule is MUCH tougher than what we have faced so far
Re: AP: SMU #23 on 10/10BYU at #19 is pretty messed up. They lost 2-3 average Boise at home. Clearly a bias there just like Texas. Us moving up one made sense.

Re: AP: SMU #23 on 10/10
BYU also won @Az St who might win the PAC 12 South. Boise lost a close one to UCF when they had their QB, another close one to Okie State who is undefeated, and a game to Nevada, who is an above average team. BYU is a good football team and still deserves to be ranked instead of falling all the way out of the polls from a top 10 ranking.
Re: AP: SMU #23 on 10/10Fun Fact: The UTSA fighting Jeff Traylors are 6-0 and receiving top25 votes. Maybe he can hire Chad next year

Re: AP: SMU #23 on 10/10
No offense but the PAC12 doesnt look (it never does since Oregon and USC days), AZ St had one "good" win against UCLA which is now unranked 4-2. USF almost got BYU and we had a much wider margin. BYU also beat Utah but they're unranked and 3-2. I think if BYU went up against top half of the AAC, Big12 and other P4s they would get exposed. That theory will be put to the test next week against Baylor who I will be rooting for. Insert "this is fine" GIF
Re: AP: SMU #23 on 10/10
Actually, that game was at BYU, not ASU.
USF never led never or even had a chance to tie after their first possession. Don't let the final score give you the impression it was a back and forth game.
Re: AP: SMU #23 on 10/10
USF score to get it to 28-35 with 5 minutes 41 seconds in the 4th quarter. Plenty of time to stop BYU and get the ball back. I remember watching it because momentum felt in USFs favor and BYU had to covert that critical third down or punt it with almost 3 minutes left but USF couldn't hold. USF mind you is considered a bottom feeder (they're going to be better in the future) in the AAC and this was a home game for BYU. Insert "this is fine" GIF
Re: AP: SMU #23 on 10/10BYU was also playing their third string QB in that game against USF.
I don't think extremely highly of the PAC 12 either, but their resume of 3-0 against a P5 conference is more impressive than anyone else's conference record this year in the entire country (mainly because not many have played 3 conference games yet, but still). I wouldn't discount that. Utah and Az State certainly wouldn't dominate in our league, but I would put them at the UCF/Houston/SMU level behind Cincy.
Re: AP: SMU #23 on 10/10
USF never made that stop. BYU lead 28-6 at halftime and mentally had already moved on to the next week.
Good point.
Re: AP: SMU #23 on 10/1017, 19. 20 and possibly 18 at the time of this post. I expect us to go to 21 +1/-1

Re: AP: SMU #23 on 10/10UTSA deserves to crack the Top 25 after their road wins at Illinois and Memphis and beating Rice 45-0 to get to 7-0. They go to La Tech next week so that might be a test for them, although La Tech lost to 6-1 UTEP last night.
With Florida and Arkansas both losing, our guys might move up a place or two but don't be shocked if Baylor and/or Auburn jump us and leave us at # 23
