We need A LOT more self respect. There is no good reason Sonny should be coaching tomorrow.

Now that the cat is officially out of the bag, it's just absurd to have him coach tomorrow. If he were getting fired but out of respect they'd let him coach it'd be one thing. But he's leaving on his own accord for our biggest rival, you don't get the privilege to coach our team anymore.

100% agree with the above.

Posted this below - but isn’t it now in his interest to have SMU lose to Tulsa?

No way should he have any impact on this game. Let him sit in the stands with the fans if he wants to support the seniors.

SD should definitely not be coaching tomorrow. Then again, he really hasn’t done much coaching over the last four weeks or so. It’s absurd.

Anyone know what the buyout was to get this traitor to our biggest historical football rivals?

Complete abdication of responsibility by the school's leadership from the president to the head of the athletic department. This is a rudderless ship that is the premier laughing stock in American higher education and not just in athletics. Are they still using that grotesque lie that SMU is The Harvard of the South - its more like the El Centro of Highland Park. (apologies to El Centro)

Put in Hart to stand there and argue calls.
Let's see some fire out of him!

Complete conflict of interest. The school taking him is in direct competition for recruits.

Just leave!

One wonders if players play for their coach or for the posters on Ponyfans? I know I would play for my coach even if he was moving on.

I agree with ponyte, who by the way has actually played college football. And I wish Sonny well. He was a fine coach for us. Thankful for his time here. I do, however, hope he fails miserably at TCU. He’s now the enemy.

This is the most schizophrenic post I’ve seen today. He’s the enemy, but I wish him well. And I’m thankful for him, but I hope he fails. Lol. And don’t put your opinion of his “fine” coaching in the past tense just yet. Apparently he’s coaching SMU tomorrow. Even though you are correct that he’s now, already, the enemy.

What if we just said “no?” Having respect for our program> Players being allowed to play for a Judas

I'm no lawyer, but if we prohibit him from coaching, it might be the same as firing him, and we
might jeopardize what buyout money we have coming from the Toads :!:

I’ll try to slow it down for you, Dukie.

If I recall correctly, he has the second best winning percentage in SMU history. He got us a 10 win season, beat TCU twice, was a master of recruiting, and had us ranked for quite a few weeks over his time here. I’m thankful for all of that.

And I wish him well, personally. He’s a likable guy.

But as the coach of TCU, I wish him nothing but abject failure. This is because I hate TCU - not because I hate Sonny Dykes.
