Seems like just the other day when I was reading PonyFans about these guys being recruited, transferring in to the program, etc. What a great group, with many program-changers! Thank you for your contributions, and we look forward to welcoming you into the fold of rabid PonyFan alumni! Very sorry your day is being overshadowed by all this BS.

With Dykes and Samples stealing our top recruits, hopefully we learned something from them on how to tap into the transfer portal.

That is a load of very good players that will be tough to replace next year.

So I heard that samples isn't signed with anyone and when the recruits asked what is going on he said doesn't know but wants to stay in Dallas. Fear of unknown may have driven their decision to decomitt more than anything

Are they allowed to re-commit to SMU?

Good question I would assume so if they don't commit somewhere else. My guess is they are waiting to see how things play out.

Sure — they can commit anywhere they want. They're not locked in to anything until they sign with their schools of choice.

Thank you indeed to all these seniors but the sheer size of that outgoing group tells us what a huge challenge Lashlee will have coming in here to keep SMU competitive next year. Lashlee worked with Samples and some of our other coaches when he was here so hopefully he will be able to retain Samples (who at least SAYS he'd like to stay in Dallas) and convince some of they guys who de-committed to sign with SMU and play for Dallas' college football team

Keep in mind because of Covid all programs have a larger than normal senior class

As do a lot of schools. Sonny has to recognize next year will be a challenge and that very well could have been another factor in his bailing out

Is it really that complex? If these reports are true that TCU has offered somewhere between $5-6 million a year, maybe this is purely a money grab? Regardless, the execution and the lying have been embarrassing.
