Quit caring, because the school doesn’t.

Postby 35straight » Sat Nov 27, 2021 8:07 pm

Letterman President,

Please file this letter as my permanent resignation from the SMU Letterman’s Board. I have found since my induction that this organization doesn’t do anything to actually push forward the agenda of letterman, former or current. We have however have made ourselves a sounding board for Rick Hart, Gerald Turner and Sonny Dykes. I’m sure that this isn’t the reason this group was founded. I will not stand by and be apart of an organization that allows for lies, complacency, and failure. Good luck in your future years conning other letterman into a lost cause. Go Mustangs.

Respectfully,
Allan Adami

The fact that you post this on a message board shows you aren’t qualified to be a board member regardless of whether your complaint is valid or not. As a letterman, and past board member, thank you for resigning.

What if... smu joins the Atlantic coast conference? The ACC NEEDS to open Texas for recruiting and smu fits their academic standards.

I don't want to be the tallest midget in the conference that we are in currently. If smu is not Dallas Big... it is not honoring its past.

The foundation is there. But do we have builders???

You’re obviously a Johnny come lately and have no idea who I am. I’ve forgotten more about football than you’ll ever know. Me resigning is the start of a long line of guys that actually give a [deleted] about this program. Congratulations on filling out your profile for PonyFans. Clown.

The Adamis have a long and distinguished history here. I’m saddened that you’re in this position, Allan. Means a lot. Hope you’ll change your mind soon.

I was at the game today with my wife and children. We are going to the bowl game. I will forever be a die hard Mustang fan. Just not going to buy in to the bs that the admins spit out as quality outreach and integration of the former letterman classes. Because it’s not happening. I will be trying to secure a meeting with Lashlee ASAP along with other former players. We have had plenty of ideas and routes to bring in players that have been shut down. Hopefully we can change that.

Good for you. Now is the time for action moreso than at any other time post DP and folks like you have to demand it. Thank you. I hope others are as brave and act on their convictions. It's the only way we'll get our school back to where it belongs...at or near the top of the football world.

I know of you and you obviously think more of yourself that you should given the years you played. If you’re bragging about your message board status, I’m certainly not impressed. Your resigning isn’t near as bad as calling out players (fellow lettermen) by name in other threads and dissing their play. No letterman, much less a letterman board member should ever do that. As for a Johnny come lately, I’m probably twice your age. Fortunately, I know you’re in the minority of SMU lettermen thank goodness. Oh, and a clown? Whatever.

I don't think you have to worry about SMU being the "tallest midget" in even the future AAC. As I reflect on our "successful" seasons in the post death penalty era, it's easy to see that June Jones, Chad Morris and now Sonny Dykes have produced winning seasons using smoke and mirrors, basically scheduling and beating teams with losing records and getting whipped by most of the good teams we've played. This year is certainly no exception because UCF was the only team we have beaten that currently has a winning record. All these coaches bailed on SMU after padding their resumes with cupcake wins and we know how it ended for both JJ and Chad, so there's a good chance Sonny could be next to be exposed.

Our guys finished 6th in the AAC and it's probably a good thing we didn't play ECU this year as they may have smoked us as well. I'm fearing another embarrassing bowl loss to end the season, depending on who we play and where we play them (and what is left of our current coaching staff).

ECU, Memphis & Tulsa will still be conference mates and all finished better than we did this year. UNT started slow but finished 6-6 and beat previously undefeated UTSA (who won at Memphis earlier this year) today. UAB looks pretty good and even lowly Rice finished their season by beating La Tech today. This program is a long ways from dreaming of being the tallest midget even in a watered down AAC and will do well to be the best AAC team in Texas...but as a glutton for punishment, I will still be following and supporting them and I know you will, too.

Don’t blame you. Leadership doesn’t care. This whole fiasco has shown anyone paying attention that investing a lot of time, money, and energy is a joke. Maybe it can all change if Turner and Hart go, but it’s too late IMO.
