Re: ranking-five-smartest-new-hires-college-football-2021Shocking...Sonny didn't make their list?
Re: ranking-five-smartest-new-hires-college-football-2021Starting to think we traded up.
Re: ranking-five-smartest-new-hires-college-football-2021Shouldn't we ask Dallas mayor and SMU alum Eric Johnson to re-name a local sewage waste facility Sonny Dykes Reservoir? I'm all for it...

If he and his staff can take recruiting up another notch
Re: ranking-five-smartest-new-hires-college-football-2021Great that he is the only non p5 on the list.
Re: ranking-five-smartest-new-hires-college-football-2021
I’ve been thinking this since a day after he was hired. I feel good about this change for us.
Re: ranking-five-smartest-new-hires-college-football-2021In terms of on-field coaching I think we most likely traded up. It's still disappointing to have the horny toads steal our recruiting class though.
Re: ranking-five-smartest-new-hires-college-football-2021We can call this a good hire. We can call this a bad hire. We can call this and upgrade from Sonny. We can call this a downgrade from Sonny.
I for one thought Sonny was a horrible hire. And he ended up being the best coach we’ve had in a while. The truth of the matter is, none of us really know. Only time will tell. 2009 Ponyfans Rookie of the Year
Re: ranking-five-smartest-new-hires-college-football-2021SMU has been trending up over the last three coaches. We all remember the nineties and early 2000's, where we lacked hope that things could ever change.
We need to breakthrough and sustain even higher performance, including beating quality P5 schools and winning our current conference. Rhett Lashlee been handed a good program with a need to improve our results and increase our depth further. Sonny demonstrated how it can be done, but we have much work to do. We are not entitled to anything, but I am hopeful the program under new, high-energy leadership with TDU (Tough, Disciplined, and United) can get us there. ![]() Pony Up
