A long, but interesting read on the future of the NCAA and an implosion, if Power 5 decides to break away.
The Fight Over the Future of College Sports Is Here: 'It Needs to Implode'"Division I, much like the NCAA as a whole, is utterly fractured. A drastic change to the system may be coming."

Interesting article. If Duke, Wake Forest, U, Vandy, Baylor, TCU, Stanford, Syracuse, Boston College separate with the "Big Boys" and we're left out, it will be a sad day for our program. Explain why KU should be Power 5 in football ahead of us? Explain why Vandy should be ahead of us? Explain why TCU should be ahead of us? Explain why Illinois should be ahead of us? None of these teams were competitive on the field last year. Some are hoops powers, but then so are a number of smaller schools. Villanova, Miami, Duke. I guess its sort of like the mafia. If you're made you're okay.

Yes, long. But on every page a proposition there are if's. What if.... It is now just about money and marketing. Can SMU get back to the early 80's? Heck can the U (Miami) get back on top?
SMU, Dallas, NIL and now the stadium money. Looks like MO is building for SMU. Let's do it correctly, legally, and show the world what Dallas and SMU are all about.
Again, DONATE
I do appreciate the PM's from the folks that have written and check or done a paypal.vemeo thing. Keep the checks coming.

I've thought for years that Divisions would eventually be dictated by athletic budgets but where will those lines be drawn and does football get separated from basketball and other sports? It's sure going to potentially mess with long standing rivalries but we've been watching that happening for years

Maybe adopt a Premier League relegation rule. Worst team in each P5 conference gets relegated to G5. G5 champs move up. Of course my list above would not like it. Maybe use average over 3 seasons. So new teams don’t instantly get re-relegated.
