NIL Questions
Posted: Thu Mar 17, 2022 7:02 pmIs there any reason why the Athletic Department couldn't put on a seminar to share best practices for entering into NIL deals with athletes? I can think of a lot of questions about the structure of these deals. For instance UT backers were reported to be setting up a charitable foundation that would pay certain players for their NIL. That looked questionable to me and I wish that SMU supporters had a place to go for seeking information about these kinds of deals.
