How to improve Ford Stadium

Watched a lot of games Saturday, and realized we need to add huge lettering inside Ford Stadium on all sides, so it appears on TV, regardless of what angle the cameras are shooting from. Saw stadiums with:
"UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND"
"FLORIDA GATORS"
"ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE"
etc.

There are two reasons we need this:
1. It looks great on TV, and when a coach or player is being interviewed, you always know he's playing in our beautiful stadium.
2. If SMU would get with it and rent that place out for high school games, regular season or playoffs, some kids might look around and realize that not only is it the most beautiful stadium in Texas, but it's SMU's stadium. Who knows, maybe they would want to play in it on a regular basis.

I'm not saying we need to repaint the graphics on the field itself -- although that would help, too. But slapping some 10-foot (or 20-foot) letters under the press box, on the walls behind the end zones, on the walls between the lower and upper and lower levels of the stadium, etc., would only help. That place should be plastered with reminders of SMU, and its great history. There should be posters of Eric Dickerson (in a helmet, not as a broadcaster), Doak Walker, Forrest Gregg, etc., ALL OVER that place. Visitors to our stadium should have no doubt what campus they're on.

Agreed. SMU nameand colors should be prominent everywhere! Banners of our history and players everywhere. Not just Dickerson, Gregg, Walker, but also Michael Carter, Jerry Ball, Wes Hopkins, Levias, Berry, and ON AND ON. We have a solid tradition. Let us all not forget it!

Go Ponies!
