The Mustangs' defensive linemen arrived as a freshman with a reputation as a serious weight lifter.

But he just posted a video of himself in the weight room. With the 225 pounds that the NFL uses as its standard bench press weight at pro days and the NFL Combine, Chatman did ... 42 reps.

The most at the 2022 combine was 32 reps — 10 FEWER THAN CHATMAN — by Boston College guard Zion Johnson.

Only six players have lifted more than 42 reps in the history of the Combine. The Combine record is a ridiculous 49 reps, by Oregon State defensive tackle Stephen Paea in 2011.

Chatman makes it look easy — see it here:

Very impressive, however, he needs to fully extend his arms.

Holy hell. Rolling that downhill 42 times is impressive.
Wow.

With Chatman and Levelston anchoring and Newman, Brown and Wright providing depth inside and with several promising DEs, I'd like to think the DL will be pretty stout this year. So glad we have Elijah back. He's been a guy who has just gotten better every year and hopefully earns 1st team all AAC honors in 2022

I hope Wright is healthy.

He didn't participate in spring ball, did he?

What is Wright's injury?

Can anyone else on the team do even 30 reps? 20? Chatman is incredible.
