Brendan Hall Named To Ray Guy Award Watch List
AUGUSTA, Ga. (ASC/SMU) – Mustang Brendan Hall was named to the preseason watch list for the 2022 Ray Guy Award, as announced today by the Augusta Sports Council. The award honors the nation's top collegiate punter in the FBS.
Hall saw action in all 12 games, punting 36 times for 1,502 yards with a long of 67. He registered nine inside the 20 and five of 50+. In addition to his punting duties, Hall registered 82 kickoffs for 5,048 yards with 49 touchbacks.
Hall, one of 49 candidates, was also on the 2021 edition of the list as a freshman, and gives the Mustangs an honoree for the third consecutive season (Chris Naggar, 2020).
The 2022 watch list was compiled based on the 2021 Ray Guy Award Semifinalist List, the top ten NCAA Punters from 2021, the 2021 All-Conference teams, the 2021 All-American Teams, the 2022 pre-season All-Conference Teams and eligible punters on the 2021 watch list. The complete list of candidates will be released Nov. 2 and, in mid-November, the committee will select the ten semifinalists to be announced on Nov. 8. Finalists will be announced Nov. 18 and the winner will be unveiled during The Home Depot College Football Awards in December.
