I kinda feel for UNT after this. I think it’s time to stop referencing this as a rivalry. The two programs are so far apart.

I really don’t understand where you are coming from on that. Over the last 15 years the series has been a pretty even split. North Texas has much better facilities and has invested much more money into athletics in the last few years. And next year the two will be in the same conference. So I’m failing to understand how these two programs are so far apart?

38 points apart, to be exact

Sadly we’ve allowed this matchup to get closer than it should have ever been the last few years. But there is no way UNT is in our league moving forward. NIL makes us a Juggernaut! And if the Pac12 comes through it will only begin to snowball for us, in a positive way.

Most of those wins came before World War 2. Not relevant today.

May I remind you of what happened in 2018? Like it or not guys these are two very similar programs these days. You guys are stuck in the 80s

To begin with, our facilities were far superior to yours 10 years ago, secondly, since 2013, SMU has invested $250M in Athletic facilities.

Just curious, how much has NTSU spent?

NTSU- put down the pipe with the strange stuff in it. You are dreaming. No rivalry.

In the last 6 years we have won all the games and the total point difference is OVER 150+.
And you think we are stuck in the 80's?? No we are moving forward. Sorry about your team.

Really? Before WWII, SMU owned a 16-1-1 advantage in this series and since the 70's, SMU holds a 17-5 advantage. You get credit for thinking things have been more competitive in recent years, though. Since our return from the death penalty, SMU only holds a 10-4 advantage. Good luck the rest of the year because if we are conference mates in the future, UNT will need to be more competitive than losing by 38 on it's home field.

Really good showing and I think this program is roaring and I can’t wait to see how NIL bares fruit.

I do feel for UNT fans. I took a gander over on their board and their program seems like a mess with Seth (glad we dodged that bullet). The game day experience also seemed crummy. Almost went their with a UNT buddy but he had to go out of state last minute.

We are already seeing the fruits of NIL.

We retained a lot of key players.

Has anyone at SMU ever refereed to this as a rivalry? Yuck. The football teams are at different levels. Have won the last four by over 28 points, won the last 8 out of 10, and have won 35 out of 42 games. Hardly a rivalry. Aside from being in the same north Texas region, there are absolutely no similarities.
