Things to send the AAC to get rid of that crew of officials

Postby Dukie » Sat Oct 15, 2022 1:13 pm

1. Inadvertent-whistle-non-punt first down, obviously.
2. Navy’s fourth down run clearly a half-yard short but given.
3. The sequence within 3 plays at 12:02 in the 4Q where Navy runner gets hit at the 16, sort of breaks free, then is dropped at the 11 = Navy ball at the 16, while SMU punt returner gets hit at the 39, sort of breaks free, and is dropped at the 28 = SMU ball at the 28.
4. Others?

Navy appeared to have jumped offside at one point when we were in scoring territory. OL did not move as they are taught. No flag. They never showed a good shot as to whether the player actually got across the line but it seemed he did.

Also, it appeared we had a targeting foul on the RDJ TD. Lots of discussion and then no call and flag picked up. Obviously that one was in our favor.

They did jump and the commentators were surprised at the lack of a flag.

The line judge who callled that first down couldn't even see the play.

Of all the issues SMU football needs to be concerned about, this is #1,438.
