Tanner finally got healthy and showed what he can do. He just played a perfect game, nothing any SMU QB has ever done. I hope he comes back next year.

How quickly the opinions about Mordecai can turn. If Tanner was to return in 2023, he just might break every SMU career passing record

Tanner’s incredible. I’m still ready to head the reins to Preston. He deserves it.

Assuming he might not be NFL caliber, Tanner could play another year of college ball and he would undoubtedly have multiple schools to choose from if he decided to transfer. He's already one of 18 graduate students playing for this SMU team so if he stays, it may well be to pursue whatever graduate degree he might be working on. Not sure I see him as a high draft pick and sure bet to make someone's NFL roster so hopefully he's thinking about coming back for another year and hopefully Preston will take the time to heal and remain patient for his day. I'd love to see the 3 QBs we currently have all return next year.

Tanner is not going to come back. He has his college degree, will have his masters, and has all the tape he needs for the NFL. There is literally no reason for him to come back next year. He will end up as a late round pick or UFA, and another year won't change that, especially after losing Rice as a receiver.

He's not coming back. This game gave him enough reel for the NFL to see a healthy TM is dangerous. I wish he could enjoy a conference championship but hopefully we get a good bowl game to end his career here. It's PS vs KHJ next year. We have a good QB in our recruiting deck to get some needed depth.
